Not sure this is appropriate for the main page or not, but I am always reminded of this funny bit of info when I hear or think about Richard Christy. As someone who also lived in the Fort Scott area, I met Richard at parties and met him again when we both moved to Springfield a few years later and ended up in the same circles again (I worked with Greg from Witches Coven). Richard's nick-name growing up was "slow". He walked slow. He talked slow. His dad did the same (my dad knew his dad .. and told me his nick-name was "slow' too .. I've never met his dad). It was not just a little bit of slowness, it was enough that it was very noticeable. I didn't even know his name the first few times I met him. Everyone just called him Slow. He even introduced himself as Slow. I find it very funny, that one of the fastest metal drummers of his time had the nick-name of "Slow" growing up. No hate what-so-ever. Just memories earned while growing up in Bourbon County, Kansas in the 80's.
